Why I get up in the morning: I get up in the morning in hopes of making a positive impact on a client’s financial situation. The nation at large needs and deserves the opportunity to obtain quality financial content that will empower them to manage their finances. I also look forward to building relationships with clients and team members alike in this high-touch profession.
How I got here: Growing up part in Ghana and Virginia, I experienced the negative impacts that finances can have on families that lack financial literacy. It became my goal to work with money and build relationships along the way. This drive inspired me to attend Virginia Tech and complete the Certified Financial Planning track. I joined the AFS 401(k) team in January 2022 and hope to learn from peers and the profession at large.
What I do really well: My greatest strength is relating to others in communication. I think it is great that we are all unique individuals but go through similar experiences and life transitions. Relating to clients and peers early on sets the tone of conversations and allows individuals to feel more comfortable opening up about their personal lives.
Who I am really: I was born in Manhattan, NY, but grew up under the care of my aunt and uncle alongside numerous cousins in Kumasi, Ghana. I came back to the states in 2006 and have lived in Northern Virginia since. I love the DMV area and support all our local teams (sadly). In my free time, you can catch me playing sports with friends, learning about new tech, spending time with family, and listening to music of all genres.
