Why I get up in the morning:
I am a problem solver. Every day has a new challenge and a new set of solutions, so we have to approach them one by one. Every day also brings a new opportunity to learn. On those rare occasions, we get to learn how to solve a new challenge, you can feel true accomplishment with your day.

How I got here:
I was lucky enough to grow up in a military family, and my parents always wanted to stress the importance of education, especially financial education. They always felt that the more I knew, the better decisions I would make, and that mindset has carried forward for me.

I attended Florida State University right out of high school but ended up joining the Air Force shortly after September 11th. My job in the Air Force was in Military Intelligence, which eventually brought me to the DC-MD area. After separating from service, I attended the University of Maryland College Park and began my work in finance. I acquired my Series 7 and Series 63 license and worked as a financial advisor, helping individuals plan for and reach their retirement goals.

What I do really well:
I’ve been told that I explain things very well. Often times it means taking the correct amount of time to make sure you are on the same page. Once everyone is on even ground, the most productive work can be done. In the end, we want everyone we help to stand on their own, feel confident in who they are, and take proud steps forward.

What I’m most interested in for the retirement industry today:
I am most interested in the changes that financial networks go through day-to-day and year-to-year. When we think about the basic concept of stocks, they were pieces of paper that used to be traded by hand to others. Now the world we live in allows us so much more access and reach, the possibilities seem endless. How we navigate the increasingly complex world is getting more complicated, but also more advantageous.

Who I am really:
I am originally from Florida, a space coast town called Merritt Island. It is the home of NASA and is where the Space Shuttle was launched (so I have seen every single launch in my life). I currently live in Maryland with my wife, Kelly, and my daughters, Annabelle and Madeline. I enjoy spending time with them outside, swimming, playing, and laughing. I have also played golf for most of my life, so that is a passion of mine.
